Biography

Dr. Ivana Mangione is a board-certified Family Medicine Doctor at UT Health RGV, dedicated to improving the quality of care for children and adults across the Rio Grande Valley. With a strong focus on preventive medicine and chronic disease management, she provides compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages. 

Dr. Mangione’s clinical interests include the treatment of diabetes, hypertension, and obesity, as well as promoting long-term wellness in underserved communities. 

Born and raised in Villa de Cura, Venezuela, Dr. Mangione is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. She earned her medical degree from the University of Carabobo in Aragua, Venezuela. After completing a year of rural medicine, she moved to the United States to pursue further training. She completed her residency in family medicine at the UTRGV Family Medicine Residency Program at Knapp, where she was honored to serve as Chief Resident during her final year. She completed her residency training in 2025. 

While serving as a Family Medicine Doctor at UT Health RGV, Dr. Mangione is also an Assistant Professor at the UTRGV School of Medicine. She is passionate about medical education training and enjoys mentoring medical students in clinical settings. She encourages learners to approach patient care with curiosity, compassion, and sensitivity. With a deep commitment to accessible, high-quality care, Dr. Mangione strives to make a lasting impact on both her patients and the next generation of physicians.
