Biography

Dr. Diana Chapa, a Psychiatrist at UT Health RGV, is a proud Rio Grande Valley native who has relocated back to her hometown from Minnesota. She received her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1995, and completed her psychiatry internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals from 1995 to 1998. She then completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship from 1998 to 2000. 

Dr. Chapa has earned board certification in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has extensive experience in her field. Since returning to the RGV, her goal is to make a positive impact in the community through her resident teachings and supervision. At the UTRGV School of Medicine, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and is the Chair of the Department of Neuro and Behavioral Health.
